The processing contents of each process are as follows:

4. Assembly Line Layout

This production line transports materials from right to left. Each process is linked by conveyor belts. The input end for loading is the raw material of drum brake pads. The output of the line is brake pads in finished form, which can be directly connected to the packaging line.

 

V. Introduction to the Assembly Line 
This production line consists of 5 machines, using the most optimized solution with the minimum number of machines. It can achieve automatic loading and unloading, and the processing contents include grinding chamfers, grinding lengths, grinding inner arcs, drilling, grinding outer arcs, grinding limits, grinding widths, cleaning and marking of inner and outer arcs, and LOGO printing, etc. The machines are connected by conveyor belts, and the speed can be adjusted. Each machine can be adjusted independently. The total length is approximately 11 meters, and the overall size of the machine can also be adjusted according to customer needs. This production line overcomes the defects of traditional production equipment such as positioning, clamping, dust extraction (collection), and processing accuracy. Due to the use of pneumatic methods for positioning and clamping, and digital control methods for motion, the processing accuracy of the products is high and the operation is stable. Dust extraction and collection use a dust particle separation method, which can efficiently extract dust and collect waste materials, achieving clean production. The collected scraps can also be reused. Each machine is equipped with a guard and dust extraction pipe, and the dust extraction rate is 95%. The entire machine has a transparent protective cover to further isolate dust. This production line automatically performs loading and unloading throughout the process, enabling one or two people to operate multiple lines, thus saving labor costs. Below is a brief introduction of the main parameters and performance of each machine.

 

5.1 Inner Arc Combined Grinding Machine

The disc movement mechanism (After the brake disc is positioned and clamped on the fixed fixture, it moves along with the fixture. During the processing, there is no displacement between the fixture and the brake disc)


Main functions: Grinding corners, grinding length, grinding inner arc (processing contents can be seen in the illustration on the first page) 
Main features:

This model integrates multiple functions such as chamfering, length grinding, and inner arc grinding, which saves space and shortens the production line length. 
2. The loading mechanism is driven by hydraulic power, and is clamped by cylinders. It performs automatic loading. The entire machine's movement is controlled by PLC, and pre-installed programs are already in place. The length and width of the loading mechanism can be quickly adjusted without the need for replacement, enabling it to accommodate different specifications of brake pads. 
3. The chamfering mechanism uses two sand wheels driven by an electric motor to rotate at high speed simultaneously for grinding the chamfers on both sides of the brake pads. The process is symmetrical, the grinding is smooth, with little vibration, and the processing accuracy is high. During the grinding process, the brake pads are clamped by an air cylinder, and the brake pads remain stationary relative to the fixture. The fixture moves parallel along a precise linear guide rail, further improving the processing accuracy. The sand wheels are made of electroplated/sintered diamond sand wheels, with large cutting capacity and long grinding life. The adjustment of the sand wheels adopts a dovetail slide seat, and is equipped with a digital scale. The resolution of the scale is 0.01mm, and the adjustment accuracy is 0.02mm. 
4. The grinding length mechanism uses two sand wheels driven by motors to rotate at high speed simultaneously for grinding the two length sides of the brake pads. The grinding is carried out symmetrically, with smooth grinding, low vibration, and high processing accuracy. During grinding, the brake pads are clamped by the cylinder, and the brake pads remain stationary relative to the fixture. The fixture moves parallel along the precise linear guide rail, further improving the processing accuracy. The sand wheels are made of electroplated/sintered diamond sand wheels, with large cutting volume and long grinding life. The adjustment of the sand wheels adopts a dovetail slide seat, and is equipped with a digital scale. The resolution of the scale is 0.01mm, and the adjustment accuracy is 0.02mm. 
5. The inner arc grinding adopts a sintered diamond grinding wheel structure. The inclination angle of the grinding wheel can be adjusted within the range of 0 to 10 degrees. The grinding wheel is of detachable structure, making replacement and adjustment very convenient. During grinding, the brake pad and the fixture are pressed together by a cylinder, without any relative displacement, resulting in high grinding accuracy. The fixture slides parallelly along the precise linear guide rail, with large bearing capacity and high precision. 
6. The internal arc grinding power mechanism is fixed as a whole on the adjustable dovetail slide. By loosening the locking screws, the height of the grinding wheel can be adjusted. The adjustment range is 0 - 100mm, allowing it to fit different internal arc specifications of brake pads. 
7. Each grinding wheel is equipped with an independent dust collection pipe, and the dust collection rate is up to 90% at one time. 
8. A brush-flying mechanism has been added to the rear of the equipment, which initially removes dust from the inner arc. 
9. The equipment is equipped with a fully enclosed outer cover to further prevent dust from entering. Additionally, dust extraction and collection devices have been installed for greater environmental friendliness. 
10. The equipment is connected to the subsequent machine tool via a conveyor belt.
